Tributes and Celebrations.

How long do you let a tear roll down your face before you wipe it?

Last night I attended a celebration of the musician Bert Jansch. Simply Beautiful. Some of the greatest musicians collated:

The members of Pentangle, Wizz Jones, Ralph McTell, Robert Plant, Paul Wassif, Lisa Knapp and so many more.

The story is also that of Love. A deep love found between Bert Jansch and his wife Loren Auerbach. Together in life, Together there after.

I hear Love Call it's Name. Christmas is coming! Order your Hand made Christmas Wreath. ATestimony to Love, to return to each year made from vintage fabrics and Bennison fabrics and woven from Willow and Ivy.

It is October and the dance of the Summer light is fading

The months have passed and now the Autumn Leaves are falling and the Mushrooms appear.

It is October and this Month marks the 50th year of Jean Cocteau's death. He wished to find poetry in everything and so he did everything, seeking the ultimate beauty.

It is October and I am falling in love with the art that is Peter Greenway. A still taken from 'Drowning by Numbers.' The magic. The Surrealism. The Fun. The light.

It is October and I find myself singing Led Zeppelin all day on a Mens wear shoot I styled.

It is October and I am inspired by it all. The magnificence in this photo. A women in Aghanistan.

It is October and a Bike commission from Worn with Love will be whizzing through the country lanes of England.

It is October and the Photographers Gallery opens an exhibition of Jacques Henri Lartique. The exquisite photos cover the period of time he spent with his first wife Bibi, (photo here taken on their honeymoon in 1919. It celebrates love. It celebrates life.

Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London.

                                                         Rothko Inspired Lamp-posts

The words of Zelda to Scott Fitzgerald:" I love you anyway - even if there isn't any me or any love or even any life- I love you."

Inspired by the photography and words of Graciela Iturbide,

" All this is to say that in life everything is connected, your pain and your imagination. It's a way of showing how you connect what you live with what you dream, and what you dream with what you do."

The Floating supper club on my boat went from strength to strength, comments from the last supper:

"After doing the rounds through London restaurants, I can't tell you how lovely, refreshing and amazing this experience has been. We all wholeheartedly would recommend this gastro experience."

Shooting Country Living stories in Cornwall and collecting wild Garlic on the cliff trail back from the beach shoot and viewing the sky like a film through the structure of the Tate St Ives

I have made many commissions recently. One in particular was for a silver wedding anniversary. It is such a privilege to create something to mark and commemorate love

The Whitechapel's latest exhibitions including Karl Blossfeldt's 19th Century photography of Nature, explaining how Nature is our best teacher. Gert and Uwe Tobias exploring collective memory through Folklore art and Barbara Jones asking the question 'How and why is anything made the way it is.'

What I learnt from Yesterday. Looking at Vintage Clothing.

It's about a return to Individualism. Making something that will last and is passed down through generations. Good bye to the throw away! The piece that I found in Ludlow which is the basis for my inspiration for my made to order page boy and special occasion suiting,  dates from the end of the 19th century. A three piece royal blue velvet suit with beautiful lining and exquisite silver buttons and panelling.
As a suit for special occasions it is exceptional. But the trousers can be worn everyday with simple layered shirting and braces. I like the idea that you wear part of your best more often than not. That it is not packed away in a cupboard to be dusted off each year but is worn. So that the wearing gives it life.

The first day of the rest of my life.

I feel I have been awoken from a sleep. Yesterday I was introduced to Foraging by Robin Harford. It was a day's course through the wonderful Idler Academy (www.idler.co.uk/academy)

As Robin said Foraging is a metaphor. A metaphor for life. It is about being connected and totally aware of ourselves and what is around us. It is about respect. It is crucial and vital. It is about waking up our senses and through that one feels totally alive.
It is about history. Connecting ourselves to what has been lost. Traditions and cultural ways. It is about other cultures too, it is about today. So much can be learnt. You can learn from everything and it seems that Foraging is everything. The most wonderful philosophy.

It is about destiny, chance, magic and alchemy. It is about believing and knowing. Knowing that everything is interconnected and believing in that. It is about knowledge but it is also about trusting ourselves that we too have instinct and knowing. But you have to really connect to yourself, to one's senses. To wake those senses up.

It teaches you that things will happen when they are meant to. Plants grow where they are meant to, when they are meant to. Nature provides what we need, at the time we need it. You just have to be aware and open to it.

As much as I feel I want to travel right now. Yearning for Mexico or Spain. I also realise that to travel now is to fling open my side hatch of my boat and step out and find. It is right here. A new world for me. Everything I need. Just by opening my eyes and trusting myself.

Homage to Grey Gardens. Edith Bouvier Beale and her Daughter Edie.

"It's awfully difficult to keep the line from the past to the present."

" When are you going to learn Edie, you are part of this world"

" I had my cake. Loved it, masticated it, chewed it and had everything I wanted. I've had a very very happy life and satisfying life."

"I was happier going out singing than anything I have done since I was born. I liked it better than anything I ever did."

" And now you can see why you lived because we had music all the time."

"A Waltz. A Waltz. How can you resist that?"

                                                  " I didn't really fall in love until I was 39."

"Make the most of time. Because it really has flown."
